Twenty one Firefighters, four Captains and three Lieutenants make up the South Burlington Career Firefighters.  Our members provide fire suppression, emergency medical treatment and transport, and all facets of special operations to the city of South Burlington and neighboring communities. Our members also provide a very robust fire safety and emergency medical prevention program as part of our public education campaign. We are constantly training to improve our skills and services.

The majority of L3671 members are tax paying home owners in South Burlington. Seven are graduates of The South Burlington School System. Seventeen have college degrees. Two of our members are instructors with State of Vermont Fire Service. Five are Haz-Mat technicians with one being on the state Haz-Mat team. Four are veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. Members of our ranks also include the President of the Professional Firefighters of Vermont and a Chairperson of the Coalition of Vermont Fire Service.

The South Burlington Career Firefighters staffs two engines and ambulance out of two firehouses 24/7 365. Each engine has minimum staffing of three- a Captain/EMT or a Lieutenant/EMT and two Firefighter/EMT's. The ambulance has two Firefighter/EMT’s assigned to the unit. Eight personnel are on duty at all times.

We are extremely passionate and proud of our service and the community we serve. The South Burlington Fire Department is the second busiest in Vermont with over 2500 incidents for 2007. On average one out of eight incidents happens simultaneously. That means two different incidents happen at the same time very often. We attempt to maintain our stations, apparatus and personnel appearance to the highest standard possible. Please stop by the stations, we are very proud to explain to you what your fire department is like on a daily basis and how your fire department operates.

Station #1 is located across from the South Burlington High School in The City of South Burlington Municipal Building.

Station#2 is located at 3 Holmes Road behind Lewis Motors, the Volkswagen /Acura Car Dealership on Shelburne Road.
